Simple Canes
Judy begins with the basics and then demonstrates how to make simple canes:
stripes, checkerboards, and jellyrolls. She then takes slices
and creates a clay journal cover. |
Shifting Time
Mica shift is a wonderful way to create colorful canes from a single
block of metallic clay. You are not limited to the colors of pearl or
metallic clay you find in your craft store. You can color the clay yourself,
like Judy did in this project, to create endless possibilities. For this
project, Judy uses her mica shift canes to create a clock.

Extruding Light
In this project, Judy demonstrates the wonders of working with translucent clay
and an extruder. The night lights Judy creates with this technique are even
more beautiful when they are lit. |
Skinner Squared
The Skinner blend (creating a perfect color gradient in clay) is the basis
for much of Judy's work. In this project, Judy creates simple Skinner
blend canes, and then transforms them into beautiful jewelry.

lemons, limes, oranges, pears, strawberries, and watermelon. After you
create these canes, you'll learn how to turn them into a charm bracelet.

easier to create than it looks! Judy tells us that anything tessellated
can be beautiful.
(You can see a close-up of this bracelet on the cover of the DVD.)
